WOBURN, MA – May 5, 2008 Winchester’s latest release of “Protocol Manager on a Stick” deploys the CTMS to the field without requiring installation of the underlying software platform or the application itself on the field personnel’s laptops. Contract CRAs as well as other field personnel may be issued the Winchester Protocol Manager CTMS on a USB 2.0 device with no other software installation. Deploying a CTMS “to the field” has become simpler and more cost effective.

This product release creates the “ultimate” in portable eClinical environments.

Protocol Manager on a Stick allows you to use the system locally offline while working in remote areas -- no-Internet-available.
The system also allows you to work online when connected to your parent system over the web.

Protocol Manager on a Stick automatically recreates your CTMS environment on any workstation. No configuration is necessary for set up on the host machine. With one click, you can launch Protocol Manager from the USB device, which automatically adds an icon to your host machine's desktop. You use a simple command to install Protocol Manager on the USB device. Once that is done, you can work with Protocol Manager from any location without your laptop.

When you remove the USB device, Protocol Manager on a Stick uninstalls the CTMS, removing the desktop icon, all files, and registry keys. Nothing is left behind.

Roaming users can take advantage of Protocol Manager on a Stick to download their roaming files to a USB device for even greater mobility.

The underlying software is not required any on machine into which you plug the USB device.

The amount of data that you download to the USB device depends upon the amount of space available on the device.

To use Protocol Manager on a Stick, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Use the Protocol Manager-only client installation to install Protocol Manager V8.0 or later.
  • Use a USB 2.0-compliant device.
